Starting her career when she was only four years old, Imani Pullam has come a long way to star as the lead for the HULU show The Orville: New Horizons.
Pullam, In a video chat session with The BGN publication, mentioned that she started doing commercials only in her early years and then put a stop to it so that she could join the dancing.
Her passion for dancing led her to spend her childhood years in the Debby Allen Dance Academy, where she was chosen for the high-ability Red Bird program.
The pivotal moment in her career came when her aunt sent her an audition national touring company of The Lion King. since it was an open call, she went for it and booked her role as Nela and joined the tour.
Although the tour took the first half of her seventh grade, her high school, West side Neighbourhood School, supported her with asynchronous WNS education.
After the tour, Imani wanted to follow acting and got herself a new agent at 13, and began doing more movies and television. Imani made her first television appearance in Nicolodeon’s reboot of All That.
In December 2019, Pullum auditioned for The Orville and bagged the role of Topa, a character discovering herself and her identity in the third season of the series.
Her acting coaches, Shelli Boone and Crystal Lee Brown of iTAPELA helped her prepare into the role of Topa.
For her next project Imani is doing a movie, Emancipation, alongside Will Smith playing his 13-year-old daughter Betsy.

19-year-old actress, Imani Pullum was born on August 07, 2003, in Los Angeles, California to Fernando Pullum(father) and Killah Be(mother).
Her father Fernando, founded the Fernando Pullum Arts and Performing Centre based in Los Angeles that provided free acting and music lessons to youth in the community.
Imani grew up going to the Hollywood Bowl. She claims to have met the late ‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman when her dad was working with him.
Her mom, Kilah, worked as a therapist. If not for acting she would have considered becoming a therapist herself.
