Sam Buttrey is an influential Associate Professor of Operations Research at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

In 1996, Sam completed his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. 

Later on, after completing his studies, he worked as a Computer System Analyst in Cowen & Company.

Sam is Proud Statistician and mentions that there is room for statistics in every subject and field.

The best part of his job is that he gets a chance to know a little about every field.

Besides Jeopardy and teaching, he also makes crossword puzzles and sells them. He finds joy in doing so.

Nonetheless, she opens heartedly cheered for her husband as the circumstances favored him at the moment and were too stunned about his performance on the show.
